Kitchen Silicone & Worktop Sealing in Portsmouth

A kitchen has dozens of joints where water can get behind units and into carcassing. Sealing them properly keeps the finish sharp and protects the cabinetry underneath.

What the work involves

Worktop-to-wall, splashback and upstand joints are sealed in a fine, straight line that suits the surface rather than a heavy bead over a gap.

Sink and hob cut-outs, drainer grooves and tap bases are sealed where water collects most.

Existing sealant that has shrunk, split or discoloured is removed first and the substrate cleaned so the new bead bonds.

Problems this solves

  • Swollen or blown worktop edges from water ingress
  • Gaps opening up between worktop and wall as units settle
  • Messy sealant left after a kitchen installation
  • Mould along a splashback or behind a sink

Typical applications

  • Laminate, quartz, granite and solid-timber worktops
  • Splashbacks, upstands and tiled returns
  • Undermount and inset sinks, taps and drainers
  • Plinths, end panels and island returns
  • Utility rooms and boot rooms

Areas covered

Portsmouth and the surrounding South Coast, including Southsea, Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Waterlooville, plus Hampshire, West Sussex and East Sussex.

FAQs

Common questions

Can you seal a newly fitted kitchen?
Yes. We often finish kitchens after the installers have left, including worktop lines, splashbacks and sink cut-outs.
Can you tidy up sealant someone else has applied?
Yes. Where a bead is uneven or over-thick it is cut out and replaced rather than built over.
Will the silicone match my worktop?
Colours are chosen to suit the worktop and wall finish, including clear and grey shades for stone and quartz.
