Internal & external

Window & Door Sealant in Portsmouth and Hampshire

Frame perimeters are exposed to driving rain and constant thermal movement. On the South Coast they need a correctly prepared joint and a sealant chosen for the exposure.

What the work involves

Failed or shrunken perimeter sealant is removed, the joint is cleaned and any gap is backed correctly before the new bead is applied.

External joints use low-modulus, weather-resistant sealant suited to the frame material and substrate.

Internal reveals and window boards are finished neatly so decoration lines stay sharp.

Problems this solves

  • Draughts around frames
  • Damp patches on internal reveals after heavy rain
  • Sealant pulling away from the frame or the brickwork
  • Painted-over sealant that has cracked

Typical applications

  • uPVC, aluminium and timber window frames
  • Front, back, patio and bi-fold doors
  • Frame-to-render, brick and cladding junctions
  • Internal reveals, window boards and architraves
  • Conservatories, porches and roof lights

Areas covered

Portsmouth and the surrounding South Coast, including Southsea, Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Waterlooville, plus Hampshire, West Sussex and East Sussex.
